After a very rough road trip, in which they went 0-6 and had nothing go there way, the Cubs have bounced back. Through four games of a ten game road trip, the Cubs are unblemished.
They started off with three comeback wins against the arch rival Cardinals, in the first game the Cubs has to battle back from a lead off home run by former Cubs Dexter Fowler. The Cubs rallied behind a Kris Bryant solo home run and won 3-2. The next game was won via grand slam by the struggling slugger, Kyle Schwarber. The Cubs won 5-3 after Wade Davis’ save. On Sunday, Ian Happ shined with two home runs and the offense exploded in a 7-6 win. On Monday, the Cubs got up early off of a Kris Bryant bomb. Eddie Butler pitched phenomenal and Montgomery had a 3 inning save to win.
All they can say is home sweet Wrigley, the Cubs have improved to 18-11 at the friendly confines after winning 6 in a row at home. However, the still remain and abysmal 11-16 on the road.
The Cubs will take on the Marlins once more before a four game stint with the Rockies.
